Elflein wins the first Volkswagen Group Logistics Award in the “Sustainability/Innovation” category

Award for sustainable transport solutions and provendecarbonization in heavy-duty transport

Elflein Transport Europe GmbH has been awarded the first Volkswagen Group Logistics Award in the “Sustainability/Innovation” category. The award ceremony took place on June 17 at the Panoramakino of the Autostadt in Wolfsburg. The award was presented by Simon Motter, Head of Volkswagen Group Logistics, together with the logistics managers of the Volkswagen Group brands.

With this award, the Volkswagen Group recognizes outstanding achievements and innovative approaches in logistics. The award represents forward-looking solutions, strong partnerships and the shared ambition to successfully implement sustainable logistics concepts in practice.

Elflein impressed the jury with a comprehensive approach to reducing emissions in heavy-duty transport. As early as the end of 2023, the company successfully integrated biogenic fuels into regular transport operations, demonstrating early on that decarbonization is not a vision for the future, but already a reality today.

Today, Elflein is an important partner for sustainable transport connections within the Volkswagen Group and uses innovative solutions to reduce CO₂ emissions, including for the Audi brand. In 2025, around 1,000 tonnes of Bio-LNG were used, saving approximately 2,500 tonnes of CO₂.

A key success factor: sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand. The achieved reduction in emissions was implemented without additional costs compared to diesel transport. In addition, Elflein continues to drive forward the electrification of heavy-duty transport. The first electric trucks are already successfully operating in regular transport operations.
