We Are Building the Future: Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Elflein Zero Emission Transport Unit
With the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on June 3, 2026, the Elflein Group officially launched construction of its new Elflein Zero Emission Transport Unit in Obertraubling, Germany. The new site marks another important milestone on the company's journey towards future-oriented, low-emission transport logistics.
The ceremony was attended by Tobias Gotthardt, State Secretary at the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, Tanja Schweiger, District Administrator of the Regensburg District, Patrick Grossmann, Member of the Bavarian State Parliament, Simon Wagner, Mayor of Obertraubling, Rüdiger Elflein, Managing Partner of the Elflein Group and Matthias Kienbaum, Managing Director of Matthias Kienbaum GmbH, who together celebrated the official start of construction.

Infrastructure for the Mobility of Tomorrow
The new Elflein Zero Emission Transport Unit will provide a modern hub for sustainable transport logistics. The project includes state-of-the-art truck parking facilities, high-performance charging infrastructure for electric trucks, and modern office and driver facilities.
The transition to alternative drive systems goes far beyond the vehicle itself. Reliable, future-ready infrastructure is essential to enable low-emission transport solutions in everyday operations over the long term.
The new site creates exactly these conditions through efficient operational processes, advanced charging infrastructure, and a consistent focus on the future requirements of electric heavy-duty transport.
In the future, a photovoltaic system will further support the site's energy supply and charging infrastructure, combining sustainable transport concepts with modern energy solutions.
A Modern Site for People and Transport
Alongside the technical infrastructure, people remain at the heart of the project. In addition to modern office space, the site will feature contemporary social and recreational areas specifically designed to meet the needs of drivers during their daily operations.
The project is being developed in partnership with Matthias Kienbaum GmbH, a trusted construction partner with whom Elflein has already successfully completed several major projects.
With the Elflein Zero Emission Transport Unit, Elflein is investing not only in a new location, but also in the future of sustainable transport logistics.
The Driving Force in Logistics.
